Frequently Asked Questions
How do I receive incident notifications?
Make sure you have:
- Push notifications enabled in iOS Settings > RunReady
- An active shift set up in the app
- Selected your organization in the Profile tab
Why am I not seeing any incidents?
Ensure you have selected an active shift. The app only shows incidents from organizations you're scheduled to be on-call for. Go to your Profile and set up a shift.
How do I respond to an incident?
When you receive a notification:
- Tap the notification to open the incident
- Review the incident details (location, type, caller info)
- Tap one of the response buttons:
- Responding to Scene - Going directly to the incident
- Responding to Station - Going to the station first
- Unable to Respond - Cannot respond to this incident
What is the "Disregard Incoming Units" feature?
When you're on scene and have sufficient resources, you can notify incoming units that they're no longer needed. This prevents over-responding and allows units to remain available for other incidents.
How do I document an incident?
Once you're on scene, tap "Add Note" to document:
- Patient vital signs and assessments
- Stroke assessments (FAST protocol)
- Owner/occupant information for property incidents
- Photos and videos
- 360-degree scene walkarounds
- Free-text notes
Can I use RunReady for multiple departments?
Yes! You can join multiple organizations and switch between them. Use the "Responding As" selector on the Dashboard to choose which organization you're responding for.
Does RunReady track my location when I'm not responding?
No. RunReady only accesses your location when you are actively responding to an incident to help with navigation. We never track your location when you're not on a call.
How do I join my organization on RunReady?
Your dispatch center must first be configured in our system. Contact your department leadership or dispatch center to request access. Once configured, you can sign up and select your organization.
